Here’s a tutorial from the guys at Blogger Tips and Tricks that will let you customize the post content column width.
Simply login to your Blogger site, and on the dashboard, go to Layout > Template Designer > Advanced > Change Width. By using simple arithmetic, or the indirect method, you can manipulate the blog width and sidebar widths and customize the main column’s width.
The sample given by Blogger Tips and Tricks shows you the following:
If you have set the blog width to 1000 px and sidebar to 300 px, the main column will then be 1000 px – 300 px = 700 px. But if you want your main column to be 750 px, you need to reset the sidebar with to 1000px – 750px = 250px.
By using Template Designer, you can change the blog widths. Here are the steps:
  • Login to Blogger.
  • In Blogger Dashboard, click the Layout tab.
  • Then click the Template Designer tab located at the top, then at the right sidebar, hit the “Advanced” button.
It’s a simple customization technique which is very useful if you want to change the preference of your width.

flakeColor: ‘#ffffff’ - Allows you to change the snowflake color. You can also use text colors ( eg. ‘blue’) or HEX.

4. Click on that arrow to display the menu.
5. Click on ‘Embed Post.’ You’ll see the code for the post, where you can adjust its width accordingly.
6. Copy the resulting code. You can embed it two ways into your Blogger site:
  • If you’re embedding it in a widget, paste the code in your HTML/Javascript gadget. Then you can move the gadget anywhere on your blog.
  • If you’re embedding it in a post or page, switch your Post Editor to HTML mode and paste the code there.
  • And that’s it!

    • Over usage widget was one of problems which makes blog become slower. Especially if the widget contains heavy scripts. It's good for you to delete some widgets which unuseful such as clock, music player, pet, games, and so on. Use useful widget such as related posts, most popular articles, or maybe Google Friend Connect.
    • CSS and Javascript
    • As we knew, CSS and javascipt can make our blog become good looking. But the side effect is it can make our blog become slowly. So you should decrease the usage or compress it for your blog. To compress Javascript, you can use Javascript Compressor.

    1.Sign in to your blogger dashboard>Select the 'Design' link[see the screenshot below]

    Many people are just filling the meta description with keywords. DON'T DO THAT. Google and other search engines will ban your site from the search engines list if you repeat your keywords too often. Make sure you don't repeat any keyword more than 3 times.
